Season 7 of the APPT brings big money live poker tournaments to South Korea, New Zealand and Australia.
Season 5 of the region’s richest poker tour was a huge a success with exciting events in some incredible poker destinations. Leo Boxell scooped the title and AU$330,000 in first place prize money at the opening event in Melbourne, before Queenstown on New Zealand’s South Island played host to the Asia Pacific Poker Tour’s first-ever Snowfest event, where Marcel Schreiner took it down.
Next the tour moved to the PokerStars Macau card room and a big field of 575 players took part. Team PokerStars Online pro Randy ‘nanonoko’ Lew was a popular winner, beating a high-class field. APPT Seoul featured the biggest-ever prize pool for a poker event in Korea, and Andrew Kim from the USA was crowned champion. The beach resort of Cebu in the Philippines hosted the final event of Season and Vietnamese player Hoang Anh Do took the title and PHP5,927,000 in cash.
