Ariel Celestino wins BPT Grand Final!

The first-ever Brasil Poker Tour has drawn to a close with a spectacular Grand Final event, held as part of the Carnival Poker Festival in São Paulo. The big winner was Ariel Celestino, who scooped the title and R$140,330 in first place prize money. In total 288 players registered for the event, creating a prize pool of R$576,000, and 40 places were paid. Among the money finishers were Team PokerStars Pro Matthias De Meulder and Team PokerStars SportStar Gualter Salles.

Season 1 of the BPT was a huge success, with three events staged around the country. The opener was in São Paulo, where the honor of being the inaugural BPT Champion went to Rolf Andersen, who collected R$170,500 for the win. The tour then moved on to beautiful Florianópolis where the big winner was Jorge Breda, who led for much of the tournament and played his big stack perfectly, all the way to the title and the R$115,024 first place prize.
