Henrique Pinho

Portuguese poker pro Henrique Pinho studied at The University of Porto before finding his true calling in the poker world, graduating in 2006 with a degree in Management.  He then went to work as an intern for an insurance company, before moving on to the marketing department of a major food company.

Henrique caught the poker bug after watching the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour on TV back in 2005.  Fascinated by what he saw, he began to research the game by reading online forums and books, and gradually learned the skills he would need to make it big.  Next step was to make a real money deposit online, and it was only a matter of months before he’d spun his original €50 balance up to a four-figure bankroll.  Now days, Henrique is crushing the online game on a consistent basis, with an all-rounder approach that sees him play wide range of games across many different levels.  He claims his success online is mainly down to good bankroll management and good planning - skills that some online poker players often neglect.  Henrique has also performed well at live tournaments, picking up cashes in various events across Portugal, especially in the Solverde Season tournaments.

When he isn’t playing poker, Henrique is a sports junkie who likes everything from tennis, football, table tennis, skiing in the winter and even kickboxing.  He’s also a big fan of local soccer team FC Porto.  He spends as much time as he can with his friends and family, and also enjoys travelling the world as often as he can.

Now that he’s representing his homeland as part of the most elite team of pro players, Henrique says he’s looking forward proving to the world that he has what it takes to succeed on the global poker scene.  He is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and plays online using the screen name 'Henrique.P'.
