Congratulations to Galen Hall - 2011 PCA Main Event Champion!

The biggest-ever PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) has now finished, with record numbers of players and massive prize pools awarded in 48 tournaments and ten days of incredible action. The Main Event attracted a staggering 1,560 players who created a total prize pool of $15,132,000. US player Galen Hall took it down, collecting $2,300,000 in first place prize money, one of the biggest prizes ever awarded outside of Las Vegas.

Team PokerStars Pro was well represented in the closing stages of the tournament, with Chris Moneymaker eventually busting in 11th for a cash of $130,000. Other members of the team who ran deep included Greg Debora, who busted in 49th for $45,000 and Pieter de Korver who registered a 90th place finish for $23,500.

PCA Super High Roller & High Roller Results

The Super High Roller event took place at the start of the festival and attracted 38 of the world’s best players, who all paid the eye-watering $100,000 to take part.  Eugene Katchalov walked away with the victory and $1,500,000 in cash, while Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu took 2nd place, a result that was worth $1,000,000 and saw him return to the top of the All Time Money List.

The $25,000 High Roller was one of the last events on the schedule and was won by Will Molson, who collected $1,072,850 for the win. Team PokerStars Pro also had a good tournament, with Leo Fernandez, Maxim Lykov and Jason Mercier all making the final table.

PCA amfAR Charity Tournament Recap

The amfAR charity poker tournament was again a huge success, with stars of screen and sports all taking part to make the evening a memorable occasion. Hosted jointly by PokerStars and the HIV/AIDS awareness organization amfAR, the event attracted a field of that included TV star Ricki Lake, actors Kevin Dillon and Verne Troyer, plus sports legends John Salley and Sergio Garcia. The event was won by Canadian Team PokerStars Pro Anh Van Nguyen, who received two stadium tickets to a sports match of his choosing.
