Q. What was it like playing for Team Canada against Team Romania in the World Cup of Poker?
A. I took a lot of pride in playing for the country I was born and raised in, Canada. At the same time, I felt a very deep connection with the Romanian team, as that is where my roots are. Both of my parents were born there and I was raised in a very traditional European household.
I was exceptionally proud of both teams. The Canadians stuck to their strategy well and approached the qualifying rounds perfectly. In the final, the Canadian team didn't have much luck and were eliminated early. At that point, I was rooting hard for the Romanian team as I know how much this event meant to the players. In the end, they came in second but have to be very proud of their achievement.

Grab
your sunglasses. You're going to need them at the beach and the
poker table at the 2008 PokerStars
Caribbean Adventure (PCA).
The PCA takes place at the exquisite Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas and will be even better than before. Why? Because we’ve added it to the European Poker Tour (EPT)
schedule. The EPT is always action packed, but we wanted to bring some extra heat to the series, so we’re taking it to the Bahamas in January for a dose of sun, sea, and of course poker!
Satellites to the PCA 2008 have begun, and you can win your $12,000 package (which includes the $8,000 tournament buy-in, $1,000 for travel expenses and 7 nights paid accommodation at the resort) through Frequent Player Point (FPP) and cash qualifiers. PokerStars VIP Club members will also have the opportunity to earn their seat through special VIP satellites.
Play now and you could win your seat to play poker in paradise
from as little as $2! Visit the Events > PCA or
Tourney > Satellite tab in your PokerStars game
lobby for the next available qualifier.
See our PCA page for full satellite and tournament details, or contact us at pca@pokerstars.com if you have any questions. |

European Poker Tour (EPT)
Season 4 of the EPT is off to a roaring start with the crowning of our first three champions. The first was EPT Barcelona champ Sander Lylloff, followed by Joseph Mouawad who took the EPT London title and most recently, Julian Thew who won the Baden leg of the tour. All three played some fantastic poker and took home millions in prize money between them. Read all about their victories in the PokerStars Blog.
The EPT will soon be making its way to the newest stop on the tour, the EPT Prague. The event is capped at 500 players, so play for your seat through our daily satellites before it fills up.

Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT)
The opening event of the first ever APPT was a great success, with 255 players from 30 countries vying for their piece of the $600,000 prize pool, making it the biggest poker event ever staged in the Philippines. The final table lasted for more than eight hours, pushing player strategies, stamina and skills to their extremes. In the end, PokerStars qualifier Brett Parise emerged victorious and proved once again that PokerStars players are a force to be reckoned with.
APPT Seoul was equally exciting, and was enjoyed by all who took part. 185 players made their way to South Korea and fought for their share of the $432,729 prize pool, but it was PokerStars qualifier Ziv Bachar (aka ziviland), a real estate agent from Israel, who claimed the title. Read all about the APPT Seoul here.
APPT Sydney qualifiers are also underway, so login to your PokerStars game lobby and check the Tourney tab for the next available satellite.
Congratulations to all of our EPT and APPT winners!
