Frequently Asked Questions

  • What's this all about?
  • The National Heads-Up Poker Championship is an invitation-only, exclusive event in which 64 players compete in one-on-one rounds of Texas Hold’em poker. The winner of each round will advance until one player is crowned the champion. PokerStars is running free-to-enter qualifiers, and one PokerStars player will be invited to participate in the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, and be seen on national TV playing for $1,500,000.
  • Great! Who's eligible?

All you have to do is sign up for a free PokerStars account or use your existing account to enter our daily Round 1 tournaments. You do not need a ticket to play, nor do you need to contact support. Simply locate the tournament in your PokerStars game lobby under ‘Tourney’ and ‘Regional’ and play.

If you are unable to travel your prize will be awarded to the next runner-up and no compensation will be given in exchange. The Grand Prize package is non-transferable and has no monetary value if not used by the winner. You must arrange your own travel to Las Vegas for these days.
