PokerStars SuperStar Showdown Rules

1. Matches against open challengers or invited opponents will occur at $50/$100 stakes or higher.
2. Matches against online qualifiers will occur at $5/$10 stakes.
3. Matches will consist of only No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha, split across four concurrent tables, with at least 50% of play being No Limit Hold’em.
4. Participants must use the PokerStars ‘auto-rebuy’ function set to reload their stacks to 100bb minimum automatically if there is sufficient match bankroll to do so.
5. If a player runs out of money on a table and their entire match bankroll is already on other tables, the players will leave the table.
6. If there are fewer than four tables in play and both players have 100bb in their match bankroll that is not already committed to tables, a new table will be started immediately.
7. If there are fewer than four tables in play and stopping play on one existing table would cause both players to have enough match bankroll to start two new tables with at least 100bb on each, ‘splitting’ their stacks, the existing table will be closed and two new tables will be opened.  If there are multiple tables that could be closed to start the new table, the closed table will be the one with the largest stack size for the player that has the smallest available uncommitted match bankroll.
8. The duration of SuperStar Showdown matches will be 2,500 hands, or until one player has lost all of their match bankroll. After 2,450 hands have been played, the players may begin to play fewer than 4 tables at a time in order to ensure that exactly 2,500 hands are played.
9. The winner will be the player that shows a profit after 2,500 hands, or that wins all of their opponent’s bankroll.
10. Participants consent to their PokerStars User ID being used by PokerStars for promotional purposes. Participants’ real names and likenesses will only be used for promotion with the expressed written consent of the participant.
11. Participants consent to the public dissemination, display, and replay of all hands played during the match. Any display or replay of the match will not reveal the hole cards of any participant in cases where the hole cards were not displayed to the public during the initial playing of the match.
12. Participants consent to the public dissemination and display of basic statistics about the match, including but not limited to number of hands won, amount of money won or lost, and duration of match
13. Participants must place 1,500 Big Blinds, measured in the stakes of the match, in escrow with PokerStars prior to the announcement of the match but after a date and time for the match are agreed to. For clarity, 1,500 Big Blinds at $50/$100 is $150,000. If a participant does not play the match at the previously agreed date and time, they will forfeit 300 Big Blinds from their escrow to be split between their planned opponent and PokerStars.
14. Participants must make themselves available for pre-match and post-match interviews and consent to the contents of these emails being used by PokerStars for promotional and/or other purposes.
15. Participants agree to be available one hour prior to the scheduled match time to review rules and procedures with PokerStars.
16. Participants agree to maintain contact with a PokerStars representative during the match and to respond to requests from the PokerStars representative in a timely manner.
17. Participants agree to sit in and/or sit out of the match tables promptly when directed to do so by any PokerStars representative and for whatever length of time the PokerStars representative specifies.
18. All participants in the matches hereby accept these Rules together with the Terms and Conditions governing the Site which can be found at /poker/room/tos/ (“Terms and Conditions”) as well as the ring game rules governing participation in any ring game on the Site (“Ring Game Rules”) which can be found here – /poker/room/policies/ring/) and agree to be unconditionally bound by these Rules, the Terms and Conditions, as well as the Ring Game Rules.
