It was five years ago that a little known accountant with a name made for poker qualified to the WSOP* Main Event via a $39 online satellite. He ended up doing pretty well… winning the whole thing! We’re talking of Chris Moneymaker, of course, and thanks to that little victory Chris has become one of the biggest names in poker. Ever since he qualified through our site in 2003, he’s been a great ambassador for both the game and for PokerStars.

To mark the five-year anniversary of Chris Moneymaker’s monumental victory we’ve formed Team Moneymaker, where a select few – 15 players, and the man himself – will be part of the most exclusive group vying to repeat Mr. Moneymaker’s achievement.

The top 15 players in the Team Moneymaker final will be heading for Las Vegas playing the Main Event courtesy of a PokerStars WSOP package, but with even more extras:

$10,000 buy-in to the World Series 2008 Main Event.

How to make the Team:

All you have to do is take part in our twice-daily Team Moneymaker $39 tournaments. If you finish high enough, (depending on how many people enter) you’ll be awarded a ticket to the Team Moneymaker Final. Finish in the top 15 of the Final and you’re in The Team!

Team Moneymaker $39 Qualifiers:

Every day from May 28at both 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM (ET). 1 in 6 entrants go through to the Team Moneymaker Final. Find them in the lobby under "Events" then "WSOP" and "All".

Team Moneymaker Final: buy in directly for $215 on the day or go through the $39 qualifiers.

June 15 at 3:00 PM (ET). Find it in the lobby under "Events" then "WSOP" and "All".
