- What is the currency in Russia?
- The currency of Russia is the Ruble.
- What is the exchange rate?
- The current exchange rate is approximately 44 Rubles to 1 Euro; and 33 Rubles to 1 US Dollar.
- What other payment methods can I use in Russia?
- Most restaurants, shops and clubs accept bank cards, but be sure to carry some cash with you for taxis, museums and smaller shops that may not accept cards.
- Do I have to pay any tax in Russia?
- Tournament poker in Russia has been legally recognized as a sport and RPT is an official sporting event held under the control of the Russian Sport Poker Federation. Due to the Russian legislation winners of the official sporting events don't have to pay tax from their winnings. When you arrive home you don’t have to pay any tax from your winnings in Russia. The only exception is if your country doesn't have a double taxation law with the Russian Federation – which is a rare occurrence.
- How is the Main Event tournament structured?
- The Main Event starts at 15:00 local time and players will receive 15,000 in chips. The tournament will follow the same structure as EPT events, with a 60 minute clock.
- Will there be side events?
- Yes, there will be side events, including satellites and additional No Limit Hold’em tournaments.
- Will there be cash games?
- There will be cash games running at different limits, starting from $5/$10 up to $1000/$2000.
- What are the casino opening hours?
- The Moscow event is taking place in a concert hall, and access will be 24 hours.
- Can I sell my seat now that I’ve won?
- Unfortunately not. You will not be able to transfer your seat.
- Can players buy in on site?
- Yes, players can buy into the tournament at the venue.
- How will players get paid - cash or wire transfer?
- Players can be paid out in cash, and winnings can also be wired to foreign players’ accounts.
- Which currencies do you accept for the tournament buy-in?
- You can buy into tournaments with US Dollars, Euros or Rubles.
- How much cash can I bring into Russia?
- The maximum amount individuals are allowed to bring into the country in cash without customs declaration is $10,000. Larger amounts must be declared at the border.
- What is there to see in Moscow when I’m not playing poker?
- The historic centre of Moscowis a must-see The city is proud of its rich cultural legacy, and you can find the biggest Russian collections of world art in the local museums, and watch the latest premieres in the theatres.
There will be a launch party for the opening of the RPT at the city's best nightclub and a special itinerary for the players on the tour. Event staff will also be on hand during the week to advise you on how to best spend your time away from the tournament area.
