The PokerStars Russian Poker Series is back for Season 2, with prestigious events at some incredible locations that are perfect for Russian-speaking players. The tournaments attract the best players from Russia, Ukraine and beyond, showcase everything this great region has to offer, and the total guaranteed prize pool will be huge.

The final tournament will take place in 2012, at what will be an unmissable event, with a huge guaranteed prize pool! The tour has already visited exciting destinations that are all great places to play poker, making your Russian Poker Series experience one to remember.

RPS Tournament Leader Board

In addition to the big prize pools available, you can also earn points on the Russian Poker Series Leader Board. The player who scores the most points from all Russian Poker Series events during Season 2 will win a fantastic prize - a PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) prize package, plus an exclusive PokerStars-branded Tag Heuer watch! Season 2 Highlights

Kiev 2 | 322 players | $718,382 prize pool | 1st: Oleg Prokhorov ($182,482)

A grand total of 322 players registered to play the Main Event of RPS Kiev 2, creating a prize pool of more than $700,000. Team PokerStars Pro Alexander Kravchenko made a deep run, eventually busting in 6th place for $29,500, before Oleg Prokhorov wrapped things up when his pocket nines flopped a set against the pair of eights held by Vadim Ostomaty.

Kiev Ukrainian League 2 | 437 players | $233,139.50 prize pool | 1st: Vladimir Mefodichev ($53,029.50)

The fourth stop on Season 2 of the Russian Poker Series was another Ukrainian League Event, held at the famous Kreschatyk Poker Club in Kiev. A grand total of 437 players took part, creating a prize pool of $233,139.50. The big winner was Vladimir Mefodichev, who added just over $50,000 to his bankroll after battling through four days of poker action to take the title.

Kiev Ukrainian League | 382 players | $203,263 prize pool | 1st: Vladislav Tonkih ($51,853)

The third stop of RPS Season 2 took place in Kiev, as part of the Ukrainian League. A total of 382 players registered for the Main Event, with 36 places paid. The event was won by online pro Vladislav Tonkih from Moscow, in what was only his fourth live tournament. Tonkih clinched the title when his A-Q dominated heads-up opponent Victor Levchenko’s A-3 in the final hand.

Riga | 121 players | €242,000 prize pool | 1st: Sergey Ilyin (€65,324)

The second event of Season 2 took place in Riga and was won by Sergey Ilyin, who pocketed €65,324. In a dominant performance, Ilyin reached the final table with the chip lead and made it pay, sweeping to the title when his 2-6 made two pair against Sergei Pilyugin’s A-Q. Team PokerStars Pro Ivan Demidov made his second consecutive RPS final table, and tops the Leader Board.

Kiev | 265 players | $688,215 prize pool | 1st: Garry Tevosov ($180,087)

Season 2 of the Russian Poker Series kicked off in Kiev with a big field of 265 players registering to take part. The main event was won by Garry Tevosov, who collected $180,087 in prize money. There were also big performances from Team PokerStars Pro, with Alex Kravchenko finishing 2nd for $113,100 and Ivan Demidov in 9th for $14,800.

  1. All players must agree to the Russian Poker Series Terms & Conditions.
  2. The winner must sign a sponsorship agreement and wear clothing that displays the  PokerStars logo exclusively for all live tournaments in which the player will participate as a part of their prize.
  3. Only resident nationals of CIS countries will be eligible for the Leader Board prize. If a national of a non-CIS country wins the Leader Board then the Leader Board prize will be offered to the highest ranked CIS player on the Leader Board. CIS country nationals are identified as individuals who hold a current passport for a country identified as existing within the CIS region and are bona fide citizens as identified by the law in their individual countries.

Failure to comply with any of the above will result in the winner no longer being entitled to claim the prize, and the relevant prize will be awarded to the next leading points player. Any decision pertaining to the Leader Board and the prizes in conjunction with the Leader Board are at the sponsor’s sole discretion. The Leader Board prize offering may be altered or cancelled at any time with no remuneration or compensation owed by the Russian Poker Series.
