Filippo Candio

Felippo Candio has always been a sociable guy, and his interest in people and what makes them tick has served him well at the poker table. He decided the life of a poker pro was for him at just 18-years old, and he now plays the game as much as he can, both online and live. He’s no stranger to grinding Texas Hold’em in poker clubs - he loves the atmosphere and the characters he meets from different social and economic backgrounds.

A deep stack tournament specialist, Felippo Candio has had plenty of success on the Italian live poker scene and is looking forward to the Italian Poker Tour providing further opportunity for him to grow his bankroll. His first big success came when he won the Italian Pro Championship in 2007, and he followed that up with a second pace at a tournament held in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Felippo has had lots of medium cashes on the Italian circuit, but his first six-figure score came at the start of 2009 when he hit the big time. The event was the Italian Championship held in San Remo and he took down $185,271 for first place. He beat a field 281, which included Italy’s best players and some World Series bracelet winners.

The young Italian has a keen business brain and has launched his own range of poker-themed clothing. He also likes music, going out and having fun. He sees joining the team as a great achievement and he’s really proud to be a part of PokerStars elite roster of players. He’s targeting improvement in his  game and a final table finish in either an IPT or EPT event. Felippo Candio is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and plays under the screen name ‘Fcandio’.
