Florian Langmann

Like so many of his peers that contest the world’s biggest tournaments, Florian Langmann is a young man that started playing poker during college. He was studying a Media degree at university in Dresden when was introduced to poker by a friend who played Starcraft. The timing was perfect, as Florian was stuck at home for two weeks following a shoulder operation. Those two weeks allowed him to build his bankroll on PokerStars at the Fixed Limit Hold’em tables, playing 2c/4c.

It was a good start for Florian, and he quickly turned that online cash experience into live tournament success. His breakthrough result came early in his career, and he hasn’t looked back since. He won the German Poker Championships in Berlin in 2006, claiming $49,045, before going on to make numerous final tables around Europe. His first major cash came in 2007 at EPT London when he finished second in the £5,200 No Limit Hold’em Main Event for $693,625. He’s been a regular at EPT events over the years and made two deep finishes in 2009. He came ninth on home soil at EPT Dortmund in the Main Event for $63,255, and fourth in the $25,000 High Roller event at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo for $247,193. He also travels well – claiming a second place in a $4,800 No Limit Hold’em side event at the 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. His live tournament record is seriously impressive and he’s a specialist in deep finishes, which means he ranks second in the list of all time German money earners.

Florian is a keen footballer and plays for a regional team called Dresdner SC. He also snowboards, loves rock music, dancing and socializing. He is very proud to be a member of Team PokerStars Pro and enjoys the camaraderie within the team. Florian plays online only at PokerStars and can be found under the screen name ‘F. Langmann’.
