Greg DeBora
Greg DeBora
Greg DeBora was born and raised in Toronto and still lives in the area today. He played pool throughout his teens, competing at an amateur level in tournaments across the region. He then made the switch to poker a few years later, and was good enough to turn pro in the space of just a few months.
Most of Greg’s success so far has been in cash games, and he is now a regular fixture in the big games online at PokerStars and at live venues like the famous Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, playing a range of stakes from $50/$100 up to $500/$1000. He’s started to focus more on live tournaments in recent years and has started to build a solid set of results. Highlights include a 7th place finish at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in 2005 for $91,700, plus two other World Poker Tour cashes worth a combined total of more than $70,000. Greg has also cashed several times at the World Series of Poker*, including coming close to making his first final table in 2005 with a 10th place finish in a $2,500 Limit Hold’em event. In early 2010, Greg also played a rare Chinese poker tournament held as part of the L.A. Poker Classic festival, and won the event for $30,225 and some serious bragging rights.
In his spare time Greg enjoys playing golf and a range of other sports including snowboarding, hiking, canoeing, rollerblading and water-skiing. He also loves to travel, with the Philippines being his favorite place to go. Greg is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and plays online using the screen name ‘G DeBora’.
