World Poker Tour Ladies Night Out Winner
If you've ever had the misfortune to be seated across the table from her, you know why they call her Isabelle "No Mercy" Mercier. Even though she just recently began her professional poker playing career, her background is pure poker. After obtaining a law degree in Canada, Isabelle Mercier went from being a lawyer to a blackjack dealer, poker dealer and eventually moved to Paris where she became the poker room manager of the Aviation Club de France. She was nominated twice at the Aviation Club for the "European Poker Awards" in the Staff Person of the Year category. Eventually she wanted to be on the other side of the table and began the quest to set her mark on the poker world.
Since turning pro, she has been the TV commentator for the last three World Poker Tour (WPT) episodes in Paris and written professionally on the topic of poker. On her brief professional career, Isabelle Mercier has won more than $250,000 in tournaments. She also won the World Poker Tour's "Ladies Night Out" poker tournament which is where she earned her nickname from World Poker Tour host, Mike Sexton.
Since the World Poker Tour "Ladies Night Out" poker tournament (which was her first), she has made eleven final tables in one year including two first place finishes. Her second took place at the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo in a No Limit Texas Hold'em Event. Several other finishes are:
- $5,000 Main Event Euro Finals of Poker 2005, No Limit Texas Hold'em - 7th place
- $10,000 European Poker Tour Grand Final, No Limit Texas Holdem - 10th place
- $25,000 5-Star World Poker Classic, No Limit Texas Hold'em - 28th place
- $4,000 European Poker Tour Deauville, No Limit Texas Hold em - 7th place
Her World Poker Tour win led to an invite at the WPT Invitational Tournament at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles along with an invite to the WPT Championship at the Las Vegas Bellagio. She finished in the money in this poker tournament taking 28th place and over $55,000 in prize money. She is now ranked 9th in all time tournament winnings for ladies in poker.
Isabelle was born in 1975 in Canada. She enjoys music, literature and movies. Isabelle plays on PokerStars as NoMercy.
