Johannes Strassmann

Hailing from Bonn, Johannes Strassmann is a modern poker professional who has game-playing roots in the PC strategy game Starcraft. Like many others, he made the switch to online poker and quickly found that he could make a good living at the virtual felt. He made an initial deposit of $5 and has never had to reload his account.

After learning his trade online, Johannes now owns one of the best European Poker Tour records of any player. After that it was another ninth place at EPT San Remo for $73,147, before a seventh place at EPT London in Season 5, this time good for a payday of $221,056. These results mean Johannes is one of the most respected and feared players on the EPT and a tournament win must be on the horizon for the talented German player.

Johannes puts as much time and dedication into his love of sports as he does into his poker. He practises martial arts, and is regularly in the gym, building up the strength and stamina that he feels is important for a successful poker career. He also plays basketball and soccer and enjoys spending time with friends and his girlfriend.
