Jude Ainsworth is a pro player from Ireland with over a million dollars in career earnings. Before turning to poker full time, he studied at university, graduating in 2008 with a Phd in Biochemistry. He took a break after his studies to focus on poker and has been playing for a living since.

He has an impressive list of live tournament cashes at events around the world, with highlights including a 3rd place finish at the 2009 Euro Finals of Poker in Paris, worth $65,431. He also cashed at the 2009 World Series of Poker* in Las Vegas, scoring a top-100 finish in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event. The biggest live cash of his career so far came at the prestigious Irish Poker Championships, held in his home town of Galway. Jude played in the €2,000 Main Event and won, beating a field of 298 other players to take away prize money of $212,479.

It’s online however where Jude has performed best, with a phenomenal record in PokerStars biggest events. He won $39,552 in February 2008 for a 3rd place finish in the Super Tuesday event, followed later in the year with a 3rd place finish in the Sunday Million, good for another $91,419. April 2009 saw him earn his biggest payday yet when he won the high stakes Main Event of the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) - a huge victory worth $963,338. He also scored other big cashes in the same year, including a win in the Daily Eighty Grand for $17,269. Incredibly, Jude made another Sunday Million 3rd place finish in 2010, this time for a cash of $194,646. It’s an incredible set of results that proves Jude has what it takes to crush the competition both live and online.
