Mats Sundin in one of the greatest ice hockey players Sweden has ever produced. He’s played in the National Hockey League for many years, and now he plays poker at PokerStars. He spent most of his glittering career at the Toronto Maple Leafs, scoring well over 500 goals and breaking countless records including most minutes played, and most points, goals and assists by any Swedish player.
He began his NHL career when he became the first ever European player to be drafted, by the Quebec Nordiques, and made his debut in the 1990/91 season. While in Quebec he established himself as one of the league’s best young players and moved to the Maple Leafs in 1994. He played in Toronto for 14 years, setting records and building one of the all-time great careers. He moved to the Vancouver Canucks in 2008 and continued playing at the highest level.
Outside of the NHL Sundin has won everything there is to win in the sport. He won Olympic gold in Turin in 2006, and has three World Championship gold medals, collected in 1998, 1992 and 1991.
