Pat Pezzin
Poker player Pat Pezzin was born in Toronto, but has dual-citizenship in both Canada and Italy, thanks to his parents who emmigrated to North America. Before he made his name in poker, Pat worked as a restaurant manager, posting huge sales figures along the way. He is married and has a daughter.
His poker career started out with frequent trips to Las Vegas and Los Angeles, where he built a solid reputation as a cash game player specializing in mixed games. He started playing online around 2004, and began steadily making money in tournaments soon after. He’s posted some impressive cashes at PokerStars since, including a runner-up finish in an event at the 2010 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), a win in the Super Tuesday for $80,000, and a runner-up spot worth $31,710 in the Weekly $200 Rebuy - one of the toughest events anywhere online. Pat has also cashed at many of the world’s biggest live events since 2002. He came close to winning a World Series of Poker* bracelet when he finished 2nd in a $10,000 Limit Hold’em event in 2009 for $285,195, alongside several other WSOP* final tables and cashes. There have also been three World Poker Tour (WPT) cashes, plus other money finishes at events across North America and beyond.
Away from poker Pat is one of the nation’s best players at Bocce - a precision sport similar to Boules. He’s represented the national team at events around the world, and is also president of a non-profit organization known as the Ontario Bocce Association, which promotes the game across Canada. Pat is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and plays online using the screen name ‘Pat Pezzin’.
