Fredy ‘sirfreddy83’ Torres is a legend among the local poker community in his native Colombia, with scores of fans keeping track of his online results and latest news. And now he’s set to make his name on the global scene with a place on online poker’s elite team of pros. He studied medicine at university, but is now fully focused on making it as a poker pro, and is turning a lifelong love of card and strategy games into a profitable career. He plays a wide range of games and limits online at PokerStars, but can usually be found playing No Limit Hold’em at the $1/$2 and $3/$6 tables.

Fredy has also been making moves on the live tournament scene, cashing in some of PokerStars biggest events. He was part of the team that came 4th in the Americas Cup of Poker in June 2010, and he also finished in 20th place at the Argentinean leg of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT).
