Kevin Thurman had become disillusioned with his situation in life by 2005. He’d been working a corporate job as a Program Manager since graduating from university in 2001 with a degree in Economics, but it wasn’t what he wanted anymore. He needed a new challenge, and something that would give him the freedom to live the kind of lifestyle he was after. Although he’d been playing poker for years, it was nothing more than a hobby. But now it suddenly seemed like something he could maybe do full time.

He deposited a bankroll of $500, went on a massive heater and has played as a full time pro ever since, turning his life around in the process. He’s won millions of dollars in cash games in the last few years, and in 2010 set a record for the most amount of VIP Player Points (VPPs) ever earned in the history of the VIP Club - an achievement made all the more impressive by the fact that he was suffering from an agonizing disease at the time, undergoing chemotherapy treatment. He’s also played some major live events recently  - including several EPT’s - and hopes to take down a big score in the future.

Kevin sees being named as a member of Team Online as recognition of everything he’s achieved so far in the game, and he hopes to build on this success even more in the years to come. He also plans to set up a poker site aimed at helping other players achieve SuperNova Elite status, with videos, articles and more.

Away from poker Kevin is passionate about music. He studied theory and guitar during his time at college, was lead guitarist in a band for a few years after graduation, and still plays now when he gets the time.
