Before making it big on the live poker scene, Romanian poker pro Toni Judet studied at university in Bucharest. He also competed on the pro billiards circuit, picking up several major title wins at events around the world. He started playing poker in local casinos around 2005, and has since quickly worked his way up the rankings to become one of his nation’s highest earning players.
Toni picked up his first major win when he took down a €2,000 side event at the 2008 European Poker Tour (EPT) Monte Carlo Grand Final for a huge cash of $247,638. Just a few months later he came close to living out every poker player’s dream of winning the World Series of Poker* Main Event. He battled through a huge field and days of tough action to eventually finish in 22nd place, good enough for a cash of $257,334. After a consistent run of other cashes in events around Europe, Toni scored another title win, this time at the 2009 CAPT Bregenz Open Main Event for $141,245. He’s yet to make an EPT Main Event final table, but has cashed at the Prague, Barcelona and Deauville events for a combined total of more than $40,000.
Although playing the pro poker circuit takes up most of his time, Toni also enjoys sport and travel, and above all else spending time with his family. He intends to play more EPT events now that he’s rolling with the world’s largest poker site, and will also be looking to improve his online game. Toni is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and plays using the screen name ‘Toni Judet’.
