Five Card Draw
Five Card Draw is often looked upon as the classic form of poker. The aim is to make your best five-card hand after one draw only.
Rules
Similar to Texas Hold'em, draw poker games are played with forced bets, known as blinds. Players are dealt five hole cards and the player first to act after the big blind can either fold, call, or raise. The action continues around the table, until betting is complete for that round.
After the first round of betting, there is a draw, in which players choose the cards they want to discard (if any). Clicking on a card you want to discard will place it in the 'discard set'. Click on the card a second time and it will be removed from the discard set. Players continue to discard cards, clockwise around the table.
When the first draw is complete, another round of betting ensues, beginning with the first player still in the hand, to the left of the button. The sequence of action is therefore as follows:
- Each player is dealt five cards
- Betting round 1, beginning with the player to the left of the big blind
- Draw
- Betting round 2, beginning with the player to the left of the button
- Showdown (if more than one player is still left in the hand)
