Prize Pool Breakdown
| Place | Cash Prize |
|---|---|
| 1st | 5,000 |
| 2nd | 3,000 |
| 3rd | 2,000 |
The points for a given event are determined as follows. Players receive 100 Place Points (PP) for a first place finish, 95 points for a second place finish, and so on down to 5 points for a 20th place finish. The place points for each tournament are listed below.
These Place Points are next multiplied by an Entrant Factor (EF), which weights the number of entrants. For every entrant, the EF rises by 0.01, from a minimum of 0.50 to a maximum of 3.00. For example, a 35 player-player tournament will have an EF of 0.50, a 76-player tournament will have an EF of 0.76, a 120-player tournament will have an EF of 1.20, a 225-player tournament will have an EF of 2.25, and a 400-player tournament will have an EF of 3.00. Finally, this total is now multiplied by a Buy-In Factor (BF), which weights the buy-ins of the event.
Points Earned = Place Points x Entrant Factor x Buy-In Factor
| Place | Points | Entrants | Factor | Buy-In | Factor | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100 | 85 | 0.85 | 100 | 1.00 | ||

Note: For the $100+9 buy-in Heads-Up Limit Hold'em event, the number of entrants is equal to the number of players entering Stage I matches. Place points for this event are as follows:
| Place | Points |
|---|---|
| 1st | 100 |
| 2nd | 95 |
| 3rd | 90 |
| 4th | 85 |
| 5th - 8th | 70 |
| 9th - 16th | 50 |
How about an example? Let's suppose a player takes 6th place out of 275 entrants in the $300 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament.
Sixth place in a tournament gives this player 75 place points. With 275 entrants, this tournament has an entrant factor of 2.75. This tournament has a $300 buy-in, so the buy-in factor is 1.22. This player's points for this tournament are computed as follows:
Points Earned = Place Points x Entrant Factor x Buy-In Factor
= 75 x 2.75 x 1.22
= 252 points
Of course, the more tournaments you enter, the better your chance at winning $5,000 and the right to call yourself the Best All Around Player at the first-ever World Championship of Online Poker!
