World Championship of Online Poker 2003
Event 6: $500 Pot-Limit Holdem
Players: 546
Prize pool: $273,500
BRILLIANT WORK, UNDONE
Our winner in this event played brilliantly for over nine hours, leading much of the time. Then, for reasons we will never know-and perhaps he will never know, our winner left his brilliant work undone.
The importance of a single hand was made obvious when 'Aces&Eight' went out in 10th place setting up this Final Table. 'Aces' played exactly one less hand than the short-stacked 'hard$' who's one extra hand, because it was at the Final Table, was worth an extra $1,638 for 9th.
FINAL TABLE: 30 min. levels. Blinds 3k/6k.

Four hands, two gone! It was a tough spot for the low-moneyed moonrise (up against only the blinds after everyone folded) on the button with a King to find Jonnymagic in the small blind with A J.
Seven handed already here is the new chip count.

Rather than an action table as it first appeared, the WCOOP 6 crew were turning out to be the tightest Final Table so far.

Each player received $45,090. Maybe he gave up $5-6,000 on a chip count split, maybe he gave up $23,000 by playing it out with his chip advantage. He'll wonder about that for a very long time.
Maybe he knew something the rest of us didn't. Certainly he didn't seem to be afraid of the other two players.
With the money spoken for, jr50 won the event outright. He played brilliantly for over nine hours then he came undone.
