World Cup of Poker 2006 - Qualify
It is a mark of prestige to play in the World Cup of Poker and qualifying for your country's team will take some hard work. There are eight tough World Cup of Poker Country Regions that will send finalists to Barcelona. Here's how you can qualify to represent your country in the 2006 PokerStars World Cup of Poker.
Two Tournament Leader Board players
The two top Tournament Leader Board players in each of the qualifying countries (from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2005) automatically qualify as a World Cup team player. Each player who qualifies for one of these coveted spots will receive an e-mail from WCP@pokerstars.com. Players must reply to this e-mail and let PokerStars know whether they wish to play for their country. Players should check their e-mail box regularly if they have qualified. If a TLB qualifier is unable to play, the next highest TLB player for that country will be offered the spot.
Two Players from FPP Heads-Up Qualifiers
Each country will have two 50 Frequent Player Point buy-in heads-up qualifiers. The winner of each of these events will qualify for their country's team.
In addition, the United States and Canadian players will have additional qualifying rounds to select state/provincial teams. For USA details, see the Team USA World Cup of Poker qualifying page. For Canada details, see the Team Canada World Cup of Poker qualifying page.
One Nominated Player
One Player will be nominated by PokerStars.
