World Cup of Poker 2008 Events

Of the 54 teams in the World Cup of Poker, nine will progress to the live poker event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, to battle for $290,000 in prize money as well as the pride of winning the World Cup of Poker for their country.
When the teams reach The Bahamas, they will play a live Team Score Round which will determine a multiplier for each team’s starting stack in the Final. After lunch, the Final starts and the teams play a nine-handed, forced rotation tournament to determine the World Cup of Poker V Champions. The prize money for this event is substantial, so there is a lot to play for:
- 1st: $100,000 ($20,000 per person)
- 2nd: $70,000 ($14,000 per person)
- 3rd: $50,000 ($10,000 per person)
- 4th: $30,000 ($6,000 per person)
- 5th-7th: $10,000 ($2,000 per person)
- 8th-9th: $5,000 ($1,000 per person)
The Team Score Round will award points to each team member as follows:

The total points earned by each team member will be added up and used to determine each team’s chip multiplier for the Final, according to the table below:
