STAGE II - Regional Play-offs

After the national teams are finalized in Stage I, they move on to Stage II - the Regional Play-offs. Here, the 54 teams from around the globe are divided into nine Regional Divisions. Only one team from each Regional Division will then move on to Stage III – the Live Final and a guaranteed share of the $290,000 prizepool!
The key to success at Stage II is team work! In order to advance from your Regional Division, your team will play in a series of ‘Team Play-off’ tournaments which will determine a winner from the Division.
To see which national teams are in which divisions, take a look at the Regional Play-off Divisions page.
The ‘Team Play-offs’ are scheduled tournaments that contain one player from every national team in the Division. Players in every team will be classified according to football positions:
| TLB Player 1 - | Striker |
|---|---|
| TLB Player 2 - | Midfielder |
| Freeroll Qualifier 1 - | Defender |
| Freeroll Qualifier 2 - | Goalie |
Teams score points based on the finishing position of each team member in the tournaments. The team that scores the most combined points are the winners of that Regional Play-off and advance to the next stage.

Players’ Responsibilities
If you cannot play in one of your scheduled tournaments, you must email wcp@pokerstars.com as early as possible, and at the very least two hours before the tournament start time. In these cases, one of the team’s alternate players will be registered by PokerStars in place of the missing player. The more notice we have, the greater the chance of an alternate player being arranged. If a player does not inform us in time to find a replacement, then the registered player will be blinded out of his tournament.
