World Poker Tour 2004 - Day 2
283 of the starting field of 343 players started Day 2 of the World Poker Tour $25,000 event at the Bellagio on April 20. The generous starting chips ($50,000) and 90 minute structure made for a much larger Day 2 starting field than most other tournaments.
However, the field narrowed considerably on Day 2, leaving 122 players. Of these, 9 PokerStars players remained, accounting for about 7% of the field (we started with about 8%). The average chip count is about 140,000; one of our players, gotmilk, is well over double the average with 367,000; two are close to the average, and all have sufficient chips to apply pressure if they can pick up hands. Starting blinds for Day 3 are T1500-3000 with T400 antes, meaning that a round costs T8100 - all of our remaining players have at least 5 rounds of blinds.
Play continues today for five 90-minute rounds. Play then resumes at noon tomorrow, and the remaining players will continue to play until only 6 remain, setting up the WPT final table.
