Ylon Schwartz
Ylon Schwartz was born and raised in New York City, and currently lives in Brooklyn. He’s been playing poker for over 15 years, and already had an impressive list of cashes at the World Series of Poker* before this year’s Main Event - with 11 in total, and two more in WSOP* Circuit events. He also plays cash games regularly at casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and at Foxwoods, in Connecticut. In addition to his success at the poker table, Ylon played on the professional chess circuit for 12 years, and also enjoys playing backgammon and many other games. In what spare time he gets, Ylon likes yoga, watching movies and playing the drums. He’s had many different jobs over the years, including being a child actor, an assistant teacher, a Broadway ticket broker and even a dancer.
If he wins the Main Event and first place prize money of $9,119,517, Ylon says he’ll use the cash to take a trip to South America and chill out in a hammock on the beach. He also claims he’ll buy himself a new apartment, a car and lots of DVDs. He goes into the Final Table in November with a chip stack of 12,525,000, 5th in chips overall. This gives him plenty of scope to make a play for the Championship, and he’ll be looking to use his vast experience to give himself an edge over the other players at the Final Table.
