It's PokerStars and it's Fabolous!

Client-News-Thumbnail-dottv.jpgSo you saw the Snoop Dogg and Timati video that featured PokerStars, right? And what about the Katy Perry video You got that, too? Alright, well, we have something new.

PokerStars has recently been spending a lot of time on its acting career and showing up in a lot of new music videos. Most recently hip-hop star Fabolous brought PokerStars into his music. The Brooklyn icon's new music video for "My Time" includes a few flashback scenes to Fabolous playing poker with his friends in his loft. Guess what kind of table they're playing on?

Yep. Take a look.

We caught up with Fabolous (aka Loso) to figure out if he actually has any game.

When did you start playing poker?

I started playing poker about two years ago.

When do you have time to play?

I had a set game every Sunday with my friends, and I would try to play whenever else I could. But as the album schedule has picked up, I just haven't had the time I used to and don't keep the same schedule.

Who plays in your regular home game?

I don't have a big, star-studded home game; just a couple friends from Jersey.

Do you have any good stories from poker?

I have a bunch. My best winning moment is with 9-4 suited. I just had an urge to gamble, so I played it. I caught two pair on the flop and rivered a full house. I stacked $12k from that hand.

Who are your favorite poker players?

I don't have just one favorite player. I like Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey. I also respect Tom Dwan and Doyle Brunson.

What are your favorite songs to listen to while playing poker?

Believe it or not, I don't really like listening to music when I play. I want to be observant and hear what people are saying. If I did listen to music, it would be the new Fabolous album Loso's Way. (Product placement, FTW)

Does hip-hop have any parallels with poker?

In hip-hop, like poker, you need to be able to read people... and camouflage what you got!

PokerStars Blog: Why did you include poker in your newest music video My Time

The entire song and video is about me coming up to make it. You couldn't really see it, but I flopped quad aces in the video - The Nutz - the biggest hand. It was symbolic to me winning big when it's "My Time."
