Loccarini heads PokerStars IPT Venice field

IPT_thn.jpgThey're all guaranteed a payday of at least €4,100, but the 43 remaining players in PokerStars IPT Venice have a much bigger figure in mind...

That's the monies on offer for the winner, thanks to a €979,700 prize pool generated by a huge field of 505 in Venice, a record-breaker for the IPT.

At the end of Day 2 the man in the driving seat, as he has been since day 1A, is PokerStars qualifier Loccarini Giacomo with 940,500 - well up from his 184,000 stack at the start of the day.

Day 2 started with 207 hopefuls, and with only 43 left for today's Day 3 they are homing in on the serious money. Hot on the heels of Giacomo are Italians Davide Cerrato with 591,500 and Marco Valena with a healthy stack of 473,000.

Other highly-placed players are Ali Tekitamgac with 467,500 and Johnathon Lewis Toby with 439,000. The average stack is 244,883.

Today's Day 3 will be action packed. Make sure you don't miss a thing by popping over to our sister Italian blog, where Matteo Viola is making sense of all the Italian dramatics. He may write in Italian, but you can pretend to be a language expert by putting his prose through Google translate.
