Nine do battle for UKIPT Champion of Champions title

PokerStars.euis pleased to announce that a unique UK & Ireland Poker Tour 'Champion of Champions' event is taking place at the end of the EPT London Poker Festival.

The televised tournament kicks off at noon on Tuesday, October 5, and involves all eight winners of the UKIPT's debut season as well as the new EPT London Main Event champion.

The tournament is being held at the London Hilton Metropole where the players will battle it out for the 'Champion of Champions' title as well as a seat to every Season 2 UKIPT Main Event plus next season's EPT London Main Event - a prize worth well over €10,000.

Destinations for the UKIPT's second season, which gets going in December, include Manchester, Nottingham and Dublin; the full schedule will be announced during EPT London.

The first season of the UKIPT involved stops all over the UK and Ireland including the debut event in Galway last December, which had a total prize pool of more than €470,000, and a record-breaking event in Nottingham's famous Dusk Till Dawn card room in May where 650 players competed.

The season's eight champions won more than €565,000 between them, with veteran Irish pro Padraig Parkinson scooping the biggest prize of all: €125,000 in Galway. The season's other winners were Nick Risk, Jamie Burland and Andrew Couldridge from the UK, Max Silver and Femi Fakinie from Ireland, Belgian Gilles Augustus and Dutch player Joeri Zandvliet.

UKIPT President Kirsty Thompson said: "We've had a fantastic first season of the UKIPT and this event will be a fitting way to finish the season, by crowning one of the nine worthy winners as the UKIPT Season 1 Champion."
