Pierre Neuville claims a Poker Grand Slam
by Friend of PokerStars Pierre Neuville
It is with great pleasure that I can announce my qualification for EPT Barcelona on PokerStars. It's my 15th qualification in a row without missing a single one! There are 13 EPT events in a year... so I would like to think I have achieved the Grand Slam of poker qualifications.
It's been a long road. As you may well know yourself, with variance you can go on a bad run and it can be really hard to win the next qualification.
The New York Times journalist, Alison Danzig, invented the 'Grand Slam' title in order to salute the performance of Donald Budge, who won four tennis majors in 1938. And today is the birth of the first Grand Slam of Qualifications on PokerStars. With so many people trying to qualify for European Poker Tour events, I am very happy to have written poker history with this achievement.
I'll tell you I have no tracking software, nor do I use any of the actual advanced techniques online. Instead, I simply play poker at its finest and from a high standard learned here in Belgium.
This has been a long adventure; one year with 15 successes. Now, all records are made to be beaten, but I sincerely hope that this one will stand for as long as my poker career lasts.
So, from today on, I will play with the number '15' on my Serial PokerStars Qualifier shirt.
