PokerStars Macau brings back Macau Poker Cup
For the third straight year, the Macau Poker Cup is coming back to PokerStars Macau.
March 3-7, PokerStars Macau at Casino Grand Lisboa will host the quarterly event. The March Macau Poker Cup will feature six events and live satellites to the $1 million Red Dragon tournament. Players will also have a chance to enjoy a bounty tournament, deep stack event, as well as a $50,000-added charity tournament.
Last October's Macau Poker Cup set a Red Dragon record with 247 players and a prize pool of HKD $2.3 million.
The $10,000 buy-in is one of the biggest you'll find in that part of the world. It's topped by December's Macau Poker Cup Championship main event. That contest features a buy in of HKD $20,000. Last year, Devan Tang walked away with the title to that tournament.
March's winner is expected to pick up a record-breaking first place prize and be a good step toward qualifying for the Asia Player of the Year (APOY). The 2010 APOY winner will win a one year sponsorship deal with PokerStars Macau.
Players can win their seats for the Red Dragon and other MPC events in a series of PokerStars.net qualifiers found under the "events" tab/ Macau in the tournament lobby.
