PokerStars to sponsor Empire State Hold'em Championship

ps_news_thn.jpgEverything--even something that's already really good--is better with a little PokerStars involved, isn't it? If you need proof, check out the Empire State Hold'em Championship next month. It was already going to be great, and now it's going to be better, because PokerStars is now sponsoring the event and running satellites.

The Empire State Hold'em Championship will go off August 14-18 at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in upstate New York. After a full schedule of cool events, the $2,500 buy-in main event will serve as the headliner. Oh, and if you didn't already know, the tournament at Turning Stone is open to all players of 18 years old and up.

Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona is not some little roadside shack. It opened back in 1993 and has a nice 32-table poker room (plus three-times that space for tourney action). The casino and resort also offers Vegas style gaming, championship golf courses, numerous restaurants, and world class entertainment (not to mention the Lava Night Club where PokerStars will host a player welcome party on August 13).

As if all that isn't enough, Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso will be hosting one of her signature Big Slick Boot Camps on August 13 at 1pm. Players can win their entry into the boot camp online at PokerStars or by buying-in directly via the boot camp website.

If you'd like the make the trip for pennies on the dollar, head on over to PokerStars where you can win a $4,000 package to the event, including the main event buy-in, six nights at the resort, and travel expenses.
