UKIPT Galway postponed until Friday

ukiptthumb.JPGThe start of UKIPT Season 2 has been put back a day owing to appalling weather conditions in the UK and Ireland.

UKIPT Galway had been due to start at 4pm tomorrow (Thursday), but because so many players were having trouble getting through snowstorms to the venue--airports are in chaos and roads a safety lottery--it was decided the fairest solution was to turn the event into a three-day tournament starting on Friday at noon.

For registered players who have already made it to Galway in western Ireland, PokerStars is putting on a €10,000 freeroll at 4pm tomorrow (Thurs) as a gesture of goodwill. Good luck if you make it in time for that!

The UKIPT's Kirsty Thompson said: "We are very sorry to have to postpone the event by one day, but it is the most sensible and fair option given that so many of our players would have had great difficulty getting here on time for tomorrow's scheduled start."

The PokerStars Blogs' own star-studded line-up (well, Rick Dacey and Nick Wright) are among those struggling to find their way to Galway. But they'll be there in good time for the new kick-off on Friday.
