Japan relief effort continues

ps_news_thn.jpgIn the movies, disasters last for two hours. On the news, disasters last for two days. In Japan, the disaster and recovery effort has been going on for weeks. There is no end in sight.

Last month's devastating earthquake and resulting tsunami killed thousands of people, left thousands more missing, and carved a trench of destruction so deep, Japan's rebuilding effort will be going on for years.

In the weeks since the disaster, PokerStars players have donated a substantial amount of money (six-figures and counting) to the Japanese relief effort, all of which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by PokerStars. The need in Japan remains, so we encourage to you to join in the recovery by donating a small portion of your PokerStars bankroll.

PokerStars players can donate to the Japanese Red Cross relief effort by joining special "dummy" tournaments under the name "Japan Earthquake Relief', located under TOURNEY > ALL. There are options in both USD and EUR, ranging from 1 up to 1,000.

To simply find the Japan tournaments, click on TOURNEY>ALL, then type the word "Japan" into the tourney filter at the bottom of the list.

It is also possible to make transfers from your PokerStars account to "Japan Fund." In both the dummy tournaments and account transfers, PokerStars will match all donations dollar for dollar.

These methods of donation will be open for a couple of more weeks. Take the time today to help Japan in the time of its greatest need.
