New time and $10K guarantee for Women's Sunday

Sunday Special corner logo.jpgThe PokerStars Women's Sunday Tournament has been a huge success in the first two weeks, but who says we can't improve on success?

First we blasted the $5K guarantee right out of the water on the first week when we had two times the number of players needed to meet the guarantee. Then we did it again the second week, surpassing the inaugural week numbers. That was a great way to get things rolling and when word got out that we had pros like Liv Boeree, Vanessa Selbst, Charlotte Van Brabander, and Mer Brit playing, that generated even more excitement.

But along the way we heard from the players who were telling us that a time change would be really beneficial for some players in the U.S. and Canada. So starting this Sunday, April 17, the tournament will move to 14:30 ET, more in line with the other Sunday Majors. This should allow for an even bigger turnout and give players some more time to relax before the game on Sunday afternoon. In addition, we've heard that the time change might allow more Team Pro members to join in, which kicks up the adrenaline level a notch or two. And when it comes to poker, adrenaline is what it's all about, right? (Well that, and winning money!)

But we didn't want to stop there. We wanted to give players more bang for their buck, so due to the tournament's hugely successful launch, PokerStars has decided to double the guarantee. You can now play with the pros, get your adrenaline fix for the week, and win twice as much money for the same buy-in. Thanks to your support and feedback, the Women's Sunday now has a $10K guarantee.

Thanks to all our players for turning out to this great tournament and for keeping in touch with us to let us know how we can make it even more successful. Mark your calendars now for Sundays at 14:30 ET and plan to be around in the afternoon to join us for some great poker and the chance to meet some new friends.
