PokerStars 10th Anniversary: Play World Record Tourney live in Prague
By now you've likely heard that PokerStars is aiming to beat its own Guinness World Record for staging the largest online poker tournament in history. The $1 event, with a guaranteed $50,000 first prize, kicks off on Sunday, December 4 and we hope to smash the current record of 149,196 players set in December, 2009.
All the signs are that we'll indeed break the record: at the time of writing, 63,600 of you have registered to play and there are still 13 days to go!
Today we have a little something extra. If you prefer not to play online alone (even with several hundred thousand others) and happen to be in Prague for the EPT, we're staging a special live celebration of the World Record Tournament. As the record event happens the day before the Prague main event kicks off, we're setting up a room in the Hilton where you can come and play the world record tourney with loads of others.
Team PokerStars Pros will be there taking part, and PokerStars will be laying on some free drinks and other treats to make it a fun event to remember. There's also talk of a last-longer prize for those playing in the room, while a Guinness World Record adjudicator may also show up to officiate over the whole record tournament from Prague.
You just need to bring your laptop, register for the tournament if you have not already done so (click Events>>10th Anniversary>>All, or to find it even faster, type the word 'record' in the Tourney Filter) and enjoy yourself.
The event will be in a special room set aside in the lobby area of the Prague Hilton Hotel, home of the EPT, and the World Record Tournament begins at 17.30 (WET).
