PokerStars & players donate $488,782 to Japan relief

ps_news_thn.jpgWhen Japan shook, the world shook with it. When the ocean's waves wiped clean entire towns, the world looked on in horror. Whether Japan was next door or half a planet away, there was no denying the tragedy or the need to do something to help. PokerStars players have again answered that call.

The Japanese Red Cross Society has sent a letter to PokerStars and its players for their May donation of ¥39,508,310 to the relief effort. In total, PokerStars players put up $244,391 of their own bankrolls to help. PokerStars matched that money for a total donation of $488,782.

We have been provided a copy of the Red Cross Society's note and have posted it here so everyone can see their money has gone to a worthy cause. Just click on the picture below to see the full size letter.

Thanks to all who donated.
