PokerStars & players donate $488,782 to Japan relief
When Japan shook, the world shook with it. When the ocean's waves wiped clean entire towns, the world looked on in horror. Whether Japan was next door or half a planet away, there was no denying the tragedy or the need to do something to help. PokerStars players have again answered that call.
The Japanese Red Cross Society has sent a letter to PokerStars and its players for their May donation of ¥39,508,310 to the relief effort. In total, PokerStars players put up $244,391 of their own bankrolls to help. PokerStars matched that money for a total donation of $488,782.
We have been provided a copy of the Red Cross Society's note and have posted it here so everyone can see their money has gone to a worthy cause. Just click on the picture below to see the full size letter.
Thanks to all who donated.
