Sunday Storm: Same game, new name, big money
I once knew a guy who was forced to grow up with the name Brock Lee. There was no particular malice on the part of his parents, I don't think, or none more than my parents who fitted me with a monogram that begins with the letters BS. The point is this: sometimes, a rose by any other name might actually be a little sweeter. Enter: The Sunday Storm.
Up until now, you might have known the Storm by a different name. For some time now, it's been known as the Sunday 1/4 Million, which, if we're being fair, is a lot like naming your first son "Hercules" and naming a subsequent child "Probably Not Quite as Strong as Hercules." Call it an oversight, call it a slip on the banana peel of branding. Whatever it was, it was wrong.
So, beginning March 27, the Sunday 1/4 Million will be the Sunday Storm. To celebrate, PokerStars is making everything right by making the first Sunday Storm a $1 million guaranteed event.
In the spirit of righting the wrongs of the world, PokerStars is giving the one-time quarter-million-dollar guaranteed event a chance to run with the big dogs. If you play on March 27 at 15:30 ET, you'll be playing for a $1 million guarantee on a direct buy-in of $11.
If you're just starting to get your feet a little wet in the game, you can actually get into the Storm for free. Beginning now and running through March 27, PokerStars will be hosting freerolls that award Sunday Storm seats to the top ten finishers of each qualifier.
Finally, just to make sure the Sunday Storm and its players know how sorry everybody is about the whole "1/4 Million" thing, PokerStars is throwing in a first deposit bonus. Make your first real money deposit of $20 or more with the code 'STORM' and you'll be credited with a ticket for the $1,000,000 Sunday Storm.
To buy-in directly or register for a satellite, open the PokerStars lobby, click 'Tourney' & 'All'.
