PokerStars puts Brazilian Series of Poker on its calendar

ps_news_thn.jpgVamoooooooooo! The Brazilian Series of Poker is now flying the flag of the big red spade.

After spending the last several years expanding its calendar around the world, PokerStars announced this morning that it is now sponsoring the Brazilian tour. The first sponsored event kicks off in just a few weeks in São Paulo. The main event runs July 26-31 at the Holiday Inn, Parque Anhembi. Satellites are available now on PokerStars.

"Incredible news! It will be great to travel all over Brazil playing in the outstanding BSOP circuit," said Team Pro Andre Akkari. "This is a truly unique opportunity to see the growing poker scene all over the country."

David Carrion, Director for Live operations in Latin America, said, "We expect to attract bigger tournament fields by offering more chances to qualify online for free, and therefore increasing participation from many more enthusiasts of the sport."

In addition to the São Paulo stop, the BSOP will visit Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza and Balneário Camboriú.
