There's usually something of a lull between the Christmas and New Year celebrations. You've eaten too much, drunk too much (coffee, obviously), and generally done no exercise of note. In other words, you are bloated and lethargic. And please don't suggest I am like that all of the time.
You might expect, therefore, the PokerStars tables to be quieter than normal over the weekend sandwiched between December 25 and New Year. Not so. In fact, our cash tables and tournaments were jumping as usual. Here's what happened over the past few days:
- The last Sunday Million of the year attracted 8,292 players, with ante_geia_AA from Cyprus walking off with the impressive $243,954.96 first prize. That's a spectacular way to end the year!
- inwooke took down the Sunday Warm-Up, bagging $108,000 after besting the field of 3,446.
- As it was the end of the month, the Battle of the Planets crew returned, with Philych_085 bagging $12,000 in this 500-field ticket special.
- Nasty555130 presumably played nicely to win the final Women's Sunday of 2012, bagging $2,126.80 in the process.
Away from the tables, PokerStars Blog also remained busy over the weekend. As well as the splendid tournament reports above, we put up our popular annual treat, the PokerStars Blog end-of-year review, while Lee Jones looked at the preparation that has been going on for the PCA, which gets under way in Atlantis in just a few days.
