PokerStars weekend review (2-12-12)

ps_news_thn.jpgListen, I was the designated driver this weekend, so it's not me. It's you. Actually, I don't know if it's you, either. Let's just blame PokerStars, shall we? Because it's somebody's fault I'm seeing double today.

Let's just count the ways shall we?

First, there was Sunday's date. 12-12. That kind of thing always makes me uncomfortable. Then there was Akkari who just wrote a great piece of the PokerStars Blog. Then there was Kyle Julius, a guy who I just met last month when he almost won the PCA. Everything started repeating itself yesterday. The date. Akkari on the blog. Kyle Julius winning lot of money.

If you were having similar problems, the PokerStars Double Vision promotion probably had something to do with it. Yesterday, PokerStars ran a bunch of its Sunday majors twice. During that time, we saw Akkari hit one of the Sunday Warm-Ups for a win, and we saw Julius pound on one of the Sunday Millions.

Here's a double-look at yesterday's big stories.

  • Sunday Warm-Up: Illini213's Ace on the River Worth $131K
  • Sunday Warm-Up II: Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari All the Way, Wins $118K
  • Sunday Million: uWi$hIamDead takes top spot, adrian_114iz top cash in five-way deal
  • Sunday Million II: Kyle "KJulius10" Julius closes out Double Vision Sunday with a $177k win

This is as close as we could get to a double image of Andre Akkari...

For a complete (but not double) look at this weekend's big results, check out the 2-12-12 PokerStars Sunday majors final tables list.

Now, go off and have a singularly good week.
