PokerStars weekend review (4-14-12)
Consider today the impact PokerStars has on poker right now. It should be really, really clear to you just by opening your eyes, but if you need some help, check this out.
At this very moment, the final table of the PokerStars-sponsored UKIPT is playing out in Nottingham. This event pulled in 1,625 players, a simply staggering amount for a regional poker event. Today's winner will pull in £210,400, another remarkable figure when you stop to think about it.
Meanwhile, EPT Berlin is kicking off for what's expected to be a monster six-day event in Germany. It's the penultimate event in a positively cracking Season 8, one that comes just a couple of weeks before the Grand Final in Monaco.
All of that said, it's impossible to ignore the big action on PokerStars over the weekend. And here's where I think it gets the most interesting.
First off, PokerStars celebrated the first anniversary of the Sunday Storm and guaranteed $1 million. Ironic13 won that one for more than $160,000. Meanwhile, the normal Sunday events were making some fun history.
As you know, PokerStars has created a bunch of really cool online tournament series over the years to compliment the big online weekend majors action. This weekend, all of those sort of came together. A WCOOP champion took down the Sunday Warm-Up, while a TCOOP champion bested the field in the Sunday Million.

Good luck in your coming week on PokerStars.
