Daniel Negreanu calls it, wins Greatest Poker Hand title
Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu can now add the title of 'Greatest Ever Poker Hand' to his lengthy list of poker plaudits. We asked poker fans around the world to vote on which of 22 PokerStars handpicked clips should be voted as the best hand in the history of PokerStars. That hand could end up winning you a lot of money, too. More on that below (see 'Zoom and Boom').
Perhaps it should come as little surprise that Negreanu won, nor that Phil Hellmuth finished in the runner-up spot, after all these two players have almost certainly claimed more hours of poker TV programming than any others - and for good reason, too.
The histrionics of both players are always entertaining but both back up big personalities with proven poker talent that has them 3rd and 4th on the all-time money list for a combined $36 million. Hellmuth's hand, from The Big Game, is also worth a watch. It's a Schadenfreude classic.
While the popular vote goes out to Negreanu, the critics chose fellow Team Pro Jason Mercier's monster call at EPT Sanremo as the most impressive. If you haven't seen it before then you really should take a look. Especially when you consider that this was Mercier's first major final table, it's quite an incredible call.
Zoom and Boom
A judging panel will choose which of the top three voted hands should be chosen for the Zoom & Boom promotion which could win you up to $100 each time you win a pot with that hand and share it with the world. Read more about that here on the Zoom & Boom page. Keep your eyes on the PokerStars Blog for announcement of that hand and then getting zooming and booming 24-30 June to bag extra 100 Billion Hand Celebration Hand dollars.
