PokerStars weekend review (01-07-13)

Unless your over-indulgence during the holiday season caused a blackout of embarrassing proportions, you will know that the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (or #PCA10 as the cool kids call it on Twitter) began over the weekend. The biggest 10 days of poker on the planet is the billing. And in terms of live poker, that much is true. However, it does not mean the online poker action at PokerStars has in any way slowed down. Oh no. Far from it. Here's what happened at the virtual felt:

- 7,613 players showed up for the first Sunday Million of 2013, generating a guarantee-busting $1,522,600 prize pool. When it was all said and done, Smasherxx67 from Canada bulldozed his/her way to victory, picking up $228,393.87. What a start to the New Year!

- The PCA also had no impact on numbers for the Sunday Warm-Up, with 3,527 players showing up (more than last week) and creating a prize pool of more than $700,000. Some $97,000 of that went to the winner (madsamot of Norway) after a three-way deal.

- The Women's Sunday was won by Chuperak BG of Serbia, a title that came with a $2,372.20 first prize.

Online action through the weekend was intense, but there's no escaping the live stuff that's going on in the Bahamas. Today sees the final table of the $100,000 Super High Roller (over $2 million for first!) as well as the start of the PCA main event.

And if you like moving pictures in video format, you can follow lots of interviews and fun on the video page.

Last, but certainly not least, that Super High Roller final table is being screened live with a special webcast.
