Weekend Review: veeea and Van Zadelhoff make for a familiar one-two

A look at all the major stories on PokerStars this past weekend.

Weekend highlights

-- Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov wins the Sunday Million and $183,675
-- Stephen van Zadelhoff wins the Sunday Warm Up collecting $80,769
-- The Asia Championship of Poker comes to a close in Macau with new Main Event and Super High Roller winners.

Round up of latest results

The weekend majors are often a place for new names to step forward, winning a major title for the first time and turning a few heads in the process. Every so often though a repeat winner comes along, someone familiar with the online lime light. This weekend that happened twice.

It happened first in the Sunday Million, where Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov took the title and a first prize of $183,675. Then it happened again in the Sunday Warm-Up, won by Stephen van Zadelhoff, who collected $80,769. Martin Harris has the story of Vezhenkov's victory, while Kristin Bihr does the same with Van Zadelhoff. Click through either link for the details.

Elsewhere the Asia Championship of Poker came to a conclusion with winners in the Main Event and Super High Roller.
In the former Jimmy Zhou earned a first prize of HK$5,885,000, defeating Thomas Ward from New Zealand heads-up. Connor Drinan would finish in sixth place. Read the full story here.

Then in the Super High Roller Andy Andrejevic undid and all-star final table, outlasting Erik Seidel, Anton Astapau, Steve O'Dwyer, Brynn Kenney and John Juanda to win the title and a first prize of HK$8,725,000. A great conclusion to the festival, which you can read about here.
