Filling time on the PokerStars Blog this weekend
A few things to do on PokerStars this weekend.
Check out history being made at the LAPT
There may have only been one empty page left in the LAPT history books, as the last event of the tour (before things become PokerStars Championship and Festivals) played out in Sao Paulo, but Nacho Barbero made sure it was filled to the very end by winning his third LAPT title. Two was already quite something.
Our reporting team were on hand to record the result, which is now unbeatable. Quite a way to end a Tour series. Read up on everything that happened on our LAPT coverage page.
Read how the Montreal Nationals won the GPL
While the LAPT was wrapping up its last ever event, the GPL was concluding it's first. First season anyhow.
The Global Poker League has pitted teams against each other throughout the year, which culminated in the best eight teams contesting the playoffs in Las Vegas this week. It came down to a final game in the final match between the Berlin Bears and the Montreal Nationals, with superlative poker start to finish. Read our report here.
Take part in the PokerStars Christmas festival
It launched back in November but the PokerStars Christmas Festival is now up to full speed, with challenges individually tailored to the type of player you are now available to try out via your challenge window. For details, and information about everything else included in the festival, check out our post from yesterday.

Listen to EPT Not Live
The latest podcast has been unleashed...
"After a two week break, you'd think the boys would be refreshed, reinvigorated and re-energised. But no. James is coming down with the lurgy, and Joe is recovering from hosting an epic 15-hour live stream and facing the prospect of hosting ANOTHER epic 15-hour live stream! He's in Vegas for the GPL play-offs and final, and gives an insight into the closing chapter of the inaugural season of the Global Poker League.
"There's a bit of Thanksgiving and movie chat, before the guys break down the two most recent #EPT TV shows (both available to watch at PokerStars.tv): The Best of the EPT Episode 3 and the EPT 13 Barcelona Super High Roller. Finally, John Lindley from California aims to prove he knows more about 'The Princess Bride' than Joe in this week's edition of 'Superfan vs Stapes'.
Catch up on what you missed
There was a fourth career Super Tuesday win for Jason "jdtjpoker" Wheeler this week, a title worth $74,000. Read the full report here.
PokerStars opened its doors in Portugal, with a promising first week that defied all expectations. Read all about that here.
As the LAPT concluded in Brazil, the Manila Megastacks 6 was kicking off in Manila. You can follow live updates from the Philippines on our live coverage page.
We also published another piece from our series about the recent PokerStars and Right To Play trip to Ghana, which proved as inspiration as it was moving. Read the latest piece by Head of Corporate Giving for PokerStars Sue Hammett.
That's it for the weekend. See you on the other side.
