While one Championship event is about to get underway, this week we released details of a brand new one for May.

PokerStars Championship Sochi will be the first event of its kind held in Russia, and is already set to become the biggest poker tournament the country has ever staged.

It all takes place in the City made famous for the Winter Olympics in 2014, and which now claims status as one of the premier tourist destinations in Russia, with the beach in one direction and the mountains in the other.

It all takes place in May, with satellites now running, as well as Spin & Go's that will help you on your way to what will be an historic event. You'll find details of those in the tournament lobby, while information about this new Championship can be found here.

Big storm coming

There be a storm brewing. Not the dangerous kind, the type that causes millions of dollars' worth of damage. Actually the exact opposite, the type that scatters millions of dollars around. As far as storms go this one is probably the best.

It's happening a Sunday March 19 to mark the sixth anniversary of the Sunday Storm. For the usual $11 buy-in they'll be a guaranteed in the prize pool, with $100,000 going to the winner. What's more there are $1.10 satellites running, and you can use StarsCoin to buy in also.

For all the details on this most eagerly awaited storm, read the blog post about it here.
